Healthy Halloween snack ideas

OCTOBER POST – Just in time….

It’s already only a few days left of this month. Oh boy, how time flies away hey!

Since it’s Halloween tomorrow, I thought I’ll share some healthy snack ideas with you.

They are super quick and so fun to make! And if you have children, don’t forget to involve them!

For the orange faces, you will need:

  • Orange
  • Blueberries
  • Dark mini chocolate chips
  • Strawberries
  • Sunflower seeds

Slice the orange, and use blueberries for eyes, chocolate chips for mouth, sunflower seeds for teeth and sliced strawberries for horn.

For the grape caterpillar you will need:

  • Skewers
  • Grapes
  • Blueberries
  • Sunflowers seeds
  • Dark chocolate chips

Thread grapes on a skewer (the long side of the grape vertical) and put the last grape horizontal to make the head.

Melt some chocolate (you only need a tiny bit) to attach the blueberry eyes.

Stick some sunflowers seeds on the top of the head to create ‘hair’.

Banana ghost:

  • Banana
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Almond butter
  • Stem from strawberries

Peel and cut the banana in half. Use almond butter on the backside of chocolate chips to attach the eyes. Place strawberry stem on top for the hat.

Apple monster:

  • Apple
  • Lemon
  • Chocolate chips
  • Almond butter (or any nut butter)
  • Strawberries

Cut the apple into 4 pieces. Rinse away the stem and seeds.

Cut a mouth on the skin side. Give a spritz of lemon juice to keep your apples from browning.

Have almond butter, or whichever spread you like inside the mouth. Stick sunflower seeds into the top on the mouth to make teeth and place a slice of strawberry in the mouth for the tongue. Have almond butter on the backside of two chocolate chips and attach the eyes.

Enjoy your spooky weekend!
