Yay, the spring is finally here, and so is our very first blog post.

Lighter clothes, bare legs, sandals and beautiful spring flowers. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this time of the year!

So, what’s better than sharing a springtiful smoothie recipe propped with vitamins, and with a beautiful bright orange colour which will get your mood on top.

My body and mind have been longing for sunshine and warmer weather. Don’t forget to protect your precious skin before you go out, and throughout the day!

This smoothie will taste even more amazing if you enjoy it outdoor under the sun.


1 BIG glass, or 2 small

To the recipe:

60gm carrot (½ carrot)

300 ml orange juice

130gm mango, fresh or frozen

7gm fresh ginger (1tsp)

Juice of 1 lemon

1tps turmeric


Have all the ingredients into a blender, and blend until smooth. Best enjoyed cold and with ice. Enjoy!

Try out my salad with baked vegetables! Perfect to eat when you want to fill your tummy with something light


Serves 2 people

You will need:

300gm Sweet potato (1 small)

750g Kent Pumpkin (½ pumpkin)

240gm Capsicum (1 capsicum)

Rocket salad (1 small bag)

Hummus (make your own, or buy)

Pickled red onion (make your own in no time!)

Olive oil

½tsp salt

Pinch of pepper, oregano, parsley, basil & Chinese Szechuan seasoning.


Peel / rinse the vegetables, and cut all the vegetables into desired size (make sure to cut approximately the same size for an even bake).

Sprinkle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper and herbs, or with what you like. Bake in a preheated oven on 200°C, or as I do, on the BBQ, until all the vegetables become soft.

How long it takes, depends about the size of your vegetables. It took 30 minutes for me. Don’t forget to stir now and then if you do this on the BBQ, to avoid the vegetables from getting burned.

Let the vegetables slightly cool down before placing the baked vegetables on top of a bed with rocket salad. Add picked red onion, drizzle with olive oil and serve with hummus. Bon appétit!



Health tip:

Can’t afford to buy organic?

Soak all fruits and vegetables in 3 parts water and 1-part vinegar for 20 minutes to remove pesticides. Drain, rinse with water and place them back to original packaging when dry.
